Banquet Cruise (Tuesday evening, March 15, 2005)

Instead of offering two separate symposium events--a banquet and mid-conference excursion--we are combining them into a single dinner cruise in New York Harbor. The relaxed 3-hour cruise is on Bateaux New York.

We will occupy our own part of the boat for the entire cruise, with climate-controlled indoor seating as well as access to our own outdoor deck.

The cruise includes appetizers, an open wine/beer/non-alcoholic bar, a banquet dinner, dessert and coffee/tea. There are also vegetarian and kosher options, which must be reserved in advance. There is also a live jazz group, which will play for part of the evening.

Location/Time: We will arrive at Chelsea Piers, Pier #61, on West 23rd Street at the Hudson River, by 6:00pm on Tuesday, March 15. The cruise is from 7:00-10:00pm. (More details will be announced before the symposium.)

Sights: The ship cruises the Hudson and East Rivers past the skyscrapers of Manhattan including the Empire State Building. You will also see the Brooklyn Bridge, South Street Seaport, and the Verrazano Narrows Bridge, the second longest single-span suspension bridge in the world. It will also pass by Ellis Island. The highlight of our cruise is the Statue of Liberty, one of the most celebrated landmarks in the world. The cruise web site has more details.

Extra Tickets: The cruise is included at no extra cost with the registration fee. If you want additional cruise tickets, for $90/ticket, use the registration page to sign up.
