I see that there isn't any #ifdef NONMANHATTAN around that code, as
there should be.  Apparently you did "configure --disable-nonmanhattan"?
There's no reason to do that, although it's useful to have somebody
tell me that the nonmanhattan code is not properly self-contained as
it's supposed to be.  Make sure that "defs.mak" defines DFLAGS as
including "-DNONMANHATTAN=1".
