[Magic-dev] Font Gone Haywire

I'm attempting to install Magic on my laptop, which is running Ubuntu. I
finally got it to compile, but when I run it, Magic nukes the terminal's
font and then closes. Here is a screen shot of the problem:

You can see the affects in the bottom of the right terminal.

I just installed Ubuntu Gutsy Gibbon fresh this past weekend, so its very
possible I'm missing a library or some other such thing is wrong. Any
suggestions?
