I have just finished making changes to magic version 7.2 (revision 27)
which should do a fairly good job at Solaris support. This also adds
some support for Tcl/Tk libraries and include files in non-standard
locations. This should also help somewhat with the Tcl compile on
    Mac OS-X.

This only means that I can compile on the Solaris boxes that I have
access to; if any of you Solaris users continue to have difficulty
compiling, please let me know. At least I now have a better
understanding of how Solaris does things.

Note that "make install" causes the C preprocessor to produce a bunch
of error messages in the Solaris compilation. This appears to be
harmless, as the preprocessor produced the correct .magic file in the
install sys/ directory, and the errors did not halt the install
    process.

    					Regards,
    					Tim
