I tried this too, and it still doesn't work. the above command complains that 
the file is not in gzip format. The exact error message is:

gzip: tclspice-0.2.11.tar.gz: not in gzip format
tar: block size = 0
-----

So, neither gunzip, nor unzip or gzip recognize the file format on my 
sparc/Solaris.  What format is this in? Could anyone unzip and install this on 
sparc/solaris?  Seems like I should give up on this.
