Hi all, Thanks for the advice on this. I'm using Magic 7.2 with the tcl interface. I found out that the exit command which allows one to exit Magic without having to respond to popups is a tcl command, not a Magic one! I couldn't get batch jobs to run in Magic with tcl, I think because the program that is running is not Magic. Then I couldn't find how to invoke Magic without the tcl interface, so ended up recompiling without the tcl option. Then I still couldn't get batch jobs to run using a simple source command because the command file was always taken to be a MAG file. What I could do was modify James's perl script with my Magic version with no tcl to run a batch job with no dancing windows. So it might not be the most elegant solution, but it works.
