Well, I just tried all the examples in the scheme tutorials and they
all worked as advertised.  Could you tell me what commands failed,
what was typed in, and which technology file was used so we can
reproduce your problem?

One possibility that suggests itself is that the scheme commands in
tutorial #S-3 require that your cursor is in the layout window.
