However, if you type "help parent" in magic, you *will* get a brief description of the command. This is true for all commands in magic. You can also type "help" by itself to get a complete listing of *all* the magic commands. It would be nice to have all the commands described in the "man" page, and even nicer to have a tutorial for each of them, but that would be a lot of work. BTW, when I implemented 'parent' and 'child,' I thought they would be very useful commands. However, I never use them unless I'm looking at someone else's layout. I find the 'xview' (same as view, but unexpands subcells first) and my modifications to the 'box' commands much more useful. Philippe Pouliquen The Johns Hopkins University
