    there might be related info in a README file associated with
    some techfiles here:

    but as far as i can see, even with all header file constants at their
    maximum values, Magic cannot have more than 25 planes and 192 types in
    the techfile, most likely because of how planes/types are mapped into
    bit operations.  (i cannot make a full SCN6M_SUBM.10.TMSC techfile for
    example (which wants 197 types).  the bitops could be rewritten to use
    wider words, a small matter of programming, right?
