Hiya We have some code that we use to go from pspice schematics to magic layout, but for real digital designs, you need libraries, place and route tools, etc.. The problem here is that your synthesis tool relies on a specific GDS library, and it expects you to have that. It depends on your foundry and whether they provide the libraries, and whether or not you have a magic techfile capable of converting those cells into magic faithfully. If you can get there, you can start to experiment with magic's built-in routers. Don't pitch this to your boss, because it doesn't work well and you will end up wasting time. If its for fun, then by all means, check it out. Short answer: I have never seen anyone do real chip design like that. Use Magic for small digital and non-standard analog designs. Use synopsis or cadence for huge ordinary digital designs. Keep your eyes open, I've seen people do crazy things in a pinch :) -erik manthos labropoulos wrote: >Hello ! > >Is there any way of automatically placing and routing >in Magic? > >What i want to do is when i have a digital circuit >description (e.g in VHDL) to go automatically in the >layout. > >Can i do that while synthesising it first with some >other tools (like Synopsis Design Compiler) and then >from the netlist going to the layout in an automatic >way ? > >Thanks! >Matheos. > >____________________________________________________________ >Do You Yahoo!? >Αποκτήστε τη δωρεάν AT yahoo DOT gr διεύθυνση σας στο http://www.otenet.gr > >
