I have been working with tut11a for the last little while and I can
paint from one of its subcells just fine. I suspect very strongly that the
issue is within the UKans library. I have not modified the cell in any way,
so I suspect the file itself contains the DRC error although I dont know
where it is yet and for now, I am going a different direction with the
tutorials.
Let me change directions on you a bit.
I am trying to get tut11a to simulate. I needed to backup to magic 7.1.
With magic 7.1, I perform the steps in the tutorial #11 on about page 2
where it goes ':extract all', then quit magic. From the command line I go
'ext2sim -L -R -c 20 tut11a' as shown and I get a myriad of "Too few
area/perim values: assuming remainder are zero". The ext file itself looks
like every merge line is generating this error. Here is the first merge line
from the tutorial tut11a:
merge "bit_0/a_n18_n22#" "bit_1/tut11d_0/Vdd" -1710 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0
0 -4 -138 -88 0 0
Can you shed any light on why this might be happening with the tutorial.
Basically, I'm trying to get a feel with some standard set of either the
tutorials or a set of cells the difference between 7.2 & 7.1 and I seem
frustrated in my efforts every time I get close.
By the way, the reason I had to backup to 7.1 was the ext2sim program said
"extract done with 7.2, you need to extract again" and I found no executable
for exttosim, so I gave up and went back a step.
