    Well, having grown frustrated with existing commercial EDA tools, I've 
gone down the path of writing all my own. :) Right now I'm rewriting
them to use a uniform format so all the tools can interoperate without 
having to write lots of little shell scripts.

The programs that I use from the original effort are:
	- a hierarchical circuit description language;
	- something  that turns it into a .sim file that can be
	  simulated with cosmos/irsim;
	- lvs (checks extract files against the language).

This works quite well for both my research and the classes I teach. :)
All the tools are text based. At some point I'd like this to be
integrated with magic, but there's enough work as it is to write these
standalone...
