    Dear John,

But. . . the nice thing about open-source tools is that, as long as there's
at least one dedicated developer hanging around, the cry of "I've got a
problem" gets answered with the response "I've got a fix", usually within a
few days, and occasionally within a few minutes. Most complaints are
traceable to real bugs in the code, and relatively few involve issues that
can't be resolved due to "incompatibility" problems between users who
can't agree how the interface should behave. This is why I'm dedicated
to the whole open-source concept (as long as there's enough money to
support it, which fortunately MultiGiG has been very generous in supplying
over the past year and a half. Otherwise, the development state of Magic
would be nowhere near where I now have it).

    						Regards,
    						Tim
