Dear Halesh, By doing "export CAD_HOME=~cad_try", you are implying (with the "~") that there is a user on the system named "cad_try". The system will convert "~" into "/home", but ONLY if 1) there is a valid entry for user "cad_try" in the /etc/passwd file, and 2) the home directory for cad_try in the /etc/passwd file is "/home/cad_try". However, 7.1 does not require that the install directory be the home directory of a user. So you don't have to change /etc/passwd; just do "export CAD_HOME=/home/cad_try", and it should work properly. The use of "~cad" is historic, but I have been discouraging it, particularly in version 7.2, which defaults to CAD_HOME=/usr/local/, a more sensible place for the install directory to be. Regards, Tim
