Maybe Apple's implementation of gcc is different but I compiled magic 
version 7.2.51 with gcc 3.1 and no problems occured... Aside from the 
usual display problems for the TCL toolbar and the OpenGL display 
screw-up when 2 windows are opened, everything runs just fine...
