    You must have DRI and GLX extensions loaded in your X server for
    OpenGL to work properly

    yes.
    You compiled magic with X's OpenGL libraries and you are using magic
    with NVidia's OpenGL libraries that't why it crashes :-)
    
    Recompile magic and see if it works
