Hello again, first of all, thanks to all on the list with the help in getting my labels all over the layout automatically. The python suggestion was great, but as I have to duplicate _how_ I do things on campus and they will not upgrade the ancient copy of magic I had to go another route... I have a new question, however. I use my magic at the house to write out the layout to CIF format... using this method, I have two questions: 1) I get this error with my new optimized layout: CIF warning for array sram6t_0 (instances of sram6t): cells are so small and close together that two non-adjacent cells could have interacting CIF! Then when I use my ancient shareware copy of PostCIF to go to dxf format on my other (windows, ugh) machine, I get a layout with 90% of everything missing. This did not happen with my last layout, but the cells were not packed in so tightly as this one... Is there some way around this? I thought about using a bigger technology just to print out the cif, but I do not think that will help, as it will just scale (right now I am doing this in 180nm. 2) I can not stand having to go get my other hard disk out and load up the aforementioned other operating system to convert from cif to dxf. I have looked around and some people on the net have cif to dxf converters for sale ($1800, and no student discounts), but I am wondering what people on this list use. I used the trial version of linkcad which was nice, but the trial period is over and they want me to pay (the $1800). Also, printing out in CAL format does not do me any good either, as openoffice will not open that for printing. The reason I want to plot it out is I do have a plotter, and I it makes it easy to do some final checking, and I hand in a nice 36"x36" printout of my homework. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you. Robert ../number9
