I have studied Alliance and admired the 2910 bit slice layout, but it appears that it is mostly an exercise in programming and not much of a layout editor like Magic. There are cells and example layouts available on the net in a number of places for magic and a google search finds them just fine. Try looking at the University of Kansas web site at http://www.rsl.ukans.edu/~mlinhart/magic or Stanfords VLSI group (http://www-vlsi.stanford.edu) or CalTechs VLSI site at http://www.async.caltech.edu to mention just three. A similar google search for Alliance layouts and cells to study has been an exercise in frustration for me. Because of that, I have moved my efforts back to Magic and away from Alliance.
